Thrilled to be partnered with Napa Construction on the Van Asche project.

Bowers Drones provided aerial progress documentation and site analysis to give Napa Construction a clear view of ongoing construction and earthwork activity. Our captures included high resolution aerial imagery and ground control + checkpoints to create detailed maps and models.

In addition to progress visuals, we overlaid the project’s civil drawings directly onto current aerial maps, allowing the team to compare plans with actual site conditions. As part of our mapping workflow, we utilized ground control points and independent checkpoints to improve and verify surface accuracy. We then compared site captures to quantify earthwork changes over time, providing measurable insight into how material was being moved across the site and how grading was progressing between captures. At times we would also compare current conditions to design surface files, to understand how much additional work needed to be completed, approximately how long it would take, and what equipment would be required.

By combining current site visuals, civil plan overlays, accurate mapping, and measurable earthwork data, our goal was to provide Napa Construction with more than traditional progress photography. The result we provided was a clearer understanding of current site conditions and a practical way to track construction progress using both visual and analytical information. This data was also shared with the general contractor as proof of work completed and supporting evidence for accurate billing.
